Current Position Assistant Professor, Department of Oceanography, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Research Interests My research interests involve ocean variability across a range of time and space scales and include the role of climate change on the variability of the East Australian Current (and other western boundary currents), extreme events in the ocean including Marine Heatwaves, the influence of the Madden-Julian Oscillation on the ocean and atmosphere, and the predictability of ocean and atmospheric variability. Education Dalhousie University, 2011, Ph.D. (Physical Oceanography) University of Ottawa, 2006, M.Sc. (Physics) Acadia University, 2004, B.Sc. (Honours Physics and Second Major Mathematics) Keywords madden-julian oscillation, intraseasonal ocean variability, characterizations of ocean variability on all time scales, extremes in ocean variability, connections between ocean and atmospheric patterns of variability, predictability in the atmosphere-ocean-climate system
